Privacy notice
Last updated: October 2026. This notice explains what information Tax Planning Plus LLC collects, how it is used, with whom it is shared and how it is protected.
1. Who we are
Tax Planning Plus LLC is a tax preparation and business services firm with an office at 9600 NW 38th Street, Suite 203, Doral, FL 33178. Because of the nature of our work we handle sensitive financial and tax information, and we treat it under the federal and Florida obligations described in this notice.
2. Rules that govern us
As a tax preparation firm we are subject to the Gramm-Leach-Bliley Act and the Federal Trade Commission (FTC) rules that implement it: the Privacy Rule (16 CFR Part 313) and the Safeguards Rule (16 CFR Part 314), which requires a written information security program. We are also subject to section 7216 of the Internal Revenue Code and its regulations, which prohibit using or disclosing your tax return information for purposes other than its preparation without your written consent, and to section 6713, which penalizes improper disclosure. Our professionals who practice before the IRS are subject to Treasury Department Circular 230 (31 CFR Part 10). We also follow the IRS guidance on safeguarding taxpayer data (Publication 4557) and the security requirements for e-file providers (Publication 1345). In Florida, the Florida Information Protection Act of 2014 (Florida Statutes section 501.171) applies.
3. Information we collect
The information you provide so we can serve you: name, contact details, Social Security numbers, ITINs or EINs, information about your family and dependents, identity documents, income forms, bank statements, information about your businesses and foreign accounts, and the bank details you give us for refunds or payments. Also the information we generate while working on your case: returns, workpapers and communications with the IRS or the Florida Department of Revenue when you authorize us. From the website we only receive what you type in the contact form.
4. How we receive your information: the secure portal
All information and documents for your case are exchanged through the firm's secure client portal, our client management system (CRM), which encrypts data and requires individual credentials. We do not request or accept Social Security numbers, identity documents or bank details by email, text message, WhatsApp or this site's form. If you send sensitive information through those channels by mistake, we will move it to the portal and ask you to use the portal going forward. For security, the client agrees to use only the portal and not to deliver physical documents except to persons of the firm previously authorized, as detailed in the terms and conditions of service.
5. How we use it
Only to prepare and file your returns and forms, provide the services you engaged, communicate with you about your case, meet legal and professional obligations, and bill and collect our fees. We do not use your tax return information to offer you other services or share it with other companies in our group without your written consent, as section 7216 requires.
6. With whom we share it
We do not sell or rent your information. We share it only in these cases: with the IRS, the Florida Department of Revenue or other authorities when filing your returns or when you authorize us to represent you; with the preparers and support staff on our U.S. team who work on your case; with members of our team located in other countries, only if you authorize it in writing under section 7216; with providers that perform necessary services for us, such as the client portal, tax software, payment processor, online scheduling and video calls, who are required to protect the information; with third parties you authorize in writing; and when required by law, court order or valid legal process.
7. How we protect it
We maintain a written information security program under the Safeguards Rule, with per-user access controls, multi-factor authentication, encryption, protected devices, staff training and oversight of service providers. Access to your file is limited to the team members working on your case.
8. If a security incident occurs
If there were unauthorized access to your personal information, we would notify you without unreasonable delay and, under Florida law, no later than 30 days. We would also notify the Florida Attorney General and the FTC in the cases and time frames those rules establish, and the IRS when it involves taxpayer data.
9. Communications
We communicate with you by phone, email, WhatsApp and the client portal. We will text or WhatsApp you only if you gave us that number or contacted us first, in line with the federal Telephone Consumer Protection Act and the Florida Telephone Solicitation Act. You may ask at any time that we not contact you through a particular channel. The IRS never initiates contact by text message or social media; be wary of any message claiming to come from the IRS or our firm that asks for payments or information through those channels.
10. Retention and disposal
We keep the returns we prepare and each case file for at least six years from filing. That is longer than the three-year minimum required by Internal Revenue Code section 6107, because in certain cases the IRS has up to six years to examine a return. When that period ends, we dispose of the information securely.
11. Your rights
You may ask us for a copy of the information we hold about you, its correction, the return of your original records under Circular 230, or to withdraw consents you gave us. Write to us through the portal or at info@taxplanningplus.com.
12. Website
This site does not use advertising or tracking cookies. The Google map, Calendly scheduling, CPACharge payments and social media links are third-party services governed by their own policies. This site is not directed to children under 13.
