Can I visit the office without an appointment?
No. Office visits are by appointment only, confirmed in advance by phone or WhatsApp. Appointments booked online are remote video meetings (Zoom).
Do you serve clients outside Doral?
Yes. Most of our clients work with us remotely, from other states and from abroad. Documents are exchanged through our secure portal and meetings can be by video call.
How much does a return cost?
Every case is evaluated before we start, because the cost depends on complexity. The scope and fees are set in writing in an engagement letter before work begins.
Who prepares and reviews my return?
It is prepared by our tax team, led by Sergio Rivas, and every return receives a final review by an Enrolled Agent before it is sent to you for approval.
How do I send you my documents?
Through our secure client portal. We never ask for documents or Social Security numbers by email or WhatsApp.
Can I get an ITIN without mailing my passport?
Yes. As a Certifying Acceptance Agent we verify your original passport at our office and you keep it.
Can I file taxes without a Social Security number?
Yes. Anyone required to file who cannot get a Social Security number files with an ITIN, which we apply for together with the return.
I live outside the United States. Do I have to file?
It depends on your citizenship, your tax residency and whether you have U.S.-source income, such as rent, real estate sales or LLC profits. We evaluate it in the first conversation.
Does my LLC have to file even with no income?
If the owner is foreign, almost always yes: it must file Form 5472 every year, and the penalty for not doing so is $25,000.
I sold real estate and 15% was withheld. Can I get it back?
In most cases, part or all of it. It is recovered by filing a nonresident return reporting the actual gain and claiming the withholding as a credit.
What if I did not file returns for prior years?
They can be filed now. The sooner it is done, the lower the penalties and interest, and if refunds are due, there is a deadline to claim them.
How do I pay my invoice?
Online, by card or electronic transfer, through the payment link on our site. We never change payment instructions by email.
What is an Enrolled Agent?
A tax professional authorized by the Department of the Treasury to represent taxpayers before the IRS in any state and on any tax matter. It is the highest credential the IRS awards.
Do you work in English?
Yes. Our whole team works in English and Spanish, and this site is available in both languages.
How long will my refund take?
Most refunds on e-filed returns arrive in less than 21 days. Those that include the earned income credit or the additional child tax credit are not paid before mid-February.
I already filed with another preparer and think there is an error. Can you review it?
Yes. We review the return and, if needed, prepare an amendment on Form 1040-X. To claim a refund there is a three-year deadline from filing.
I get paid through Zelle, PayPal or Uber. Do I have to report it?
Yes. All income from work or business is reported, whether or not you receive a Form 1099. At the same time, business expenses are deductible.
What is the Identity Protection PIN?
A six-digit number issued by the IRS that changes every year and prevents anyone else from filing a return with your number. Any taxpayer can request it, including ITIN filers.
I have accounts in my home country. Must I report them?
If you are a U.S. tax resident and the combined balance of your foreign accounts exceeded $10,000 at any time during the year, yes: on the FBAR and, depending on the amounts, Form 8938.
Is the citizenship question on Form 1040 already in effect?
No. It appears on the draft 2026 form and may change before the final version. The rules on refundable credits are also proposed.
What should I do if I received an IRS letter?
Do not ignore it and respect the deadline it gives. IRS representation is handled by SOLON, our group's tax defense firm.
